Monthly Prayer & Meditation Group
SUNDAY'S PRAYER TOPIC:
Thank you as always for joining us in meditating on solutions, cures, and resolutions to the most pressing local and international problems of the day. We envision our group as scattered across the world, individually casting the same pebble into the world-pond, sending out ripples of loving-kindness.
INCREASE THE PEACE -- PAKISTAN AND INDIA
We are at the beginning of a month that for many symbolizes peace and hope, yet the world seems more unsettled than ever. In the streets of Mumbai we see militants and terrorists wanting to tear the world apart, claiming irreconcilable differences between Muslims, Jews, Hindus, and Christians-divisions that aren't really there. This is a difficult moment, but the world is not run by terrorists or militants. The world is made up almost wholly of people who want peace and long for reasons to be hopeful.
This Sunday we ask our monthly prayer group to please meditate with us on a rededication to peace between neighbors, a month of renewal for the sibling nations of India and Pakistan who were born at the same time, hoping for the same freedoms from fear and oppression.
PERSONAL REQUESTS FOR PRAYERS
Thank you for your energetic participation and support in our prayer request section! We're very proud to offer this forum to bring our online community together, and we will continue to publish private requests for up to two weeks in a row. Your local church and community groups are wonderful options for the sort of long-term support that can only be given in person, so we encourage you to share your ongoing prayer requests with your local circles of friends and organizations while Earth Clinic continues to broadcast most of its healing, meditative energies to Global Concerns.
We welcome your support for this week's 9 prayer requests:

11/29/2008: TW from Milan, Tn/USA writes, "I don't like asking for prayers for myself because I've always thought myself selfish for doing so. However, I am at the end of my rope. I have numerous health problems, can't work, and have no income. The only way I am making it is by living with my 91 year old Mother and taking care of her. I feel I am totally worthless and a dead beat Dad, a loser.
I haven't spoken with my 12 year old daughter in 4 months. Hence, my request. Please pray that my daughter realizes how much I love her and need her in my life. I have had 2 reasons to live-my Mother and Daughter and I don't like feeling I have lost half of my reasons to exist.
I am not asking for health or wealth, just my daughter's love. Thank you all for caring and your prayers. May God bless each and every one of you and yours."

11/29/2008: Stephania from Miami, FL writes, "This is my first time commenting/posting, and I hope I found the correct forum.
I would like to submit a prayer request that both of my children--ages 17 and 20, find focus in their personal and career goals; as well as humility in regards to others. I would also like to have my husband find focus in the career direction he is taking and work diligently at achieving his goals. As for me, continue to maintain my focus, and strengthen my patience with and understanding of others.
Blessings and continued prayers to all.
Stephania"

11/30/2008: Heidi from Ogden, Utah writes, "This is a prayer request for Anne I., whose husband passed away on Saturday the 29th after a week of illness. This was a sudden and very quick demise and death. Please pray for Anne's peace, and for her children as they grieve the passing of their beloved Don. Thank you."

11/29/2008: Debbie from Massillon, OH writes, "I would appreciate prayers for my father, who is 90 yrs. old and has fallen and hurt his back. Please pray for his recovery so he can again live semi-independently and not end up in a nursing home. Thank you so much."

11/29/2008: Sherry from Longview, Washington writes, "With all the cut backs and lost jobs my son is having a difficult time finding a job that isn't part time. Everyone where he works got their hours cut way back. My son is trying to find another job to add to the one he has so he can make enough to pay his bills. I know there are a lot of others in the same situation right now. My heart goes out to them. Please pray my son finds a decent job or finds another part time job to add to the one he has now. Thank You!"

11/29/2008 Dominie from Yucca Valley, Cal. United States, "First of all, THANK you and God Bless you and Keep you as you continue in this ministry. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Lift and Hold my mother, Melissa Robinson who is severely disabled up to the Lord. My mother is dysphasic, aphasic, paraplegic. She can't walk,or talk, and isn't allowed to eat, but was placed on a feeding tube even though one doctor felt she could have a pureed diet. Four different medical facilities have encouraged me to sign Do not Resuscitate paperwork and Hospice paperwork. But she laughs when something funny is said, smiles when I enter her room and reaches for my hand holding it close to her. She is alert and very responsive, but trapped in a body that doesn't work and at the mercy of those in the care facility. She was hospitalized a little over a year ago with double pneumonia, MRSA, sepsis, and related conditions. The hospital withdrew life sustaining and comfort measures encouraging me to sign a DNR or agree to Hospice. Her suffering was extreme and I had to engage the help of an attorney to get comfort and life sustaining fluids reattached. which greatly improved her condition. She and her condition and situation are heavy on my heart. Please Pray about this. I am not able to care for her in my home as circumstances won't permit. Pray that my mother FEELS the Lord's Presence and His LOVE.
Please pray also that God will lead me to His Will in how best to provide for my children. His will in what type of employment He wants me in as I recently lost a job a little over three weeks ago, then experienced a mysterious house fire, two flat tires and a break down on the side of the freeway. Somehow, God has sustained us and He has graciously granted me a peace that truly passes all understanding. Please, please also pray for a favored family dog that is very much loved and very friendly with a gentle nature but has suffered the past few years with tumors. His name is Gus.Pray he feels God's love as well and for the Lord's Guidance. Thank you so very much. May the Lord Bless and Keep you ALL in His Love. May you all FEEL His Love!"

About Our Group
We brought the Earth Clinic Meditation and Prayer Group to life in the spring of 2007, when the genocide in Darfur, tensions in the Middle East, and droughts around the world seemed only the loudest voices in a world of need. Many of our friends, colleagues in healing, acquaintances from Native American nations, and members of the Earth Clinic community were already involved in local prayer and meditation groups, but these seemed to lack in two areas.
The first was an analytical component, following up on the intentions each group meditated upon, to find practical results of their spiritual actions. Our group follows news and other data sources to help us discover which prayer formats are most effective.
The second missing component was an ability to connect even larger groups-exactly the sort of global community Earth Clinic has pulled together for more than a decade. We have already achieved that goal in our group with over 3,400 weekly and monthly members from around the world and across America. We each pray at our own times, in our own places (members in the South Pacific are already praying when it is still Saturday on the U.S. West Coast!), meditating on issues of local concern-locally in Mumbai, in Christchurch, in Arusha, in Dubai, and in Johnsonville. We reflect a world full of prayer, mutual support and needs.
Before every Sunday, we design a topic of meditation for the group and include it in this newsletter. How you address the topic is up to you. We only ask that you set aside at least 10 minutes on Sunday, at any time of the day, to direct your thoughts to our common intention.
Thanks for being part of our prayer family!
With Warmest Regards,
Earth Clinic
